FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. we are scheduled to meet at 1pm, what time should we arrive?

A. we learned a long time ago to designate meeting time, not ceremony times.  that way if you (or one of our staff) is running a minute late, we will all survive it.  if your event requires chair setup, etc. it will be done prior to the meeting time.  if you have a large group, or folks that tend to be late to everything, tell them 15 minutes early!  (we would be happy to pick up the bride and groom, so you can avoid the whole issue)


Q. can we get a ride to the wedding/how much does it cost?

A. we are happy to provide a ride, no cost, for two passengers to the wedding.  please request in writing, at the time of reservation. we can only provide transportation from hotels or inns, on the island of key west.


Q. where is stairway number nine on smathers beach?

A. located between stairways eight and ten, we have links to google maps in our emails, and throughout the site.


Q. how do we get our photos?

A. at the ceremony we will confirm pickup time, within 24-72 hours we will have your cd ready for pickup at our office,
901 fleming street, at the corner of margaret and fleming.  look for the drop box by our door on margaret, if we are not in the office. some larger photo packages may take an extra day.  if you are leaving town right away, we will be happy to mail the cd to you. mid-may, mid-november, and unusually busy dates like 07-07-07, 10-10-10, and 11-11-11 will create a bottleneck, and may take as long as a week to complete all of the weddings.


Q. how will we know where to stand, and what to do?

A. if you've ever been to a wedding, you cant get it wrong!  we will help you stage manage the entire event, no worries.


Q. do we need a wedding coordinator on the day of our event?

A. 90% of our events are small and intimate, we plan all of the details in advance, you only need to show up, and have a relaxing time at your wedding.  some larger groups do require an additional organizer at the events, and we will make those recommendations while we are in the planning stages.


Q. what about the vows?

A. many folks like our standard vows that we have developed over the years.  they are a combination of verses and reading that we have gathered at other weddings.  personal vows are always invited.  if you want us to read or recite personalized vows, please email them to us several days in advance to avoid confusion.

Q. how long does it take after the wedding before i can change my name? how long does it take to get the wedding license back from the courthouse?

A. allow a minimum of 30 days, then contact your local dmv for name change info.  allow extra time in peak months. also, we discovered a new service in entrepreneur magazine for helping you change your name... http://hitchswitch.com/
